I have been hunting and raising wire-haired pointers for 8 years.
I have always been involved with hunting dogs and have had many great dogs including Brittany’s, German Short hair Pointers and English setters.
I and my dogs have hunted Pheasants, Chukar, and Quail as well as Duck and Geese. I became very interested in the German Wire hair after purchasing and training a male we called Luke. He was an extraordinarily fast learner and his natural skills were very strong and surfaced early in training. I also became aware that this breed seemed to have an intense energy and drive that I had not found in the other breeds.
The Wire hair also showed a huge desire for becoming attached to the handler and I found it was very important in the training of the dogs that they have a very strong bond with the handler as well as the family. I was also intrigued by the stamina and durability of the breed as well as the eagerness to please the handler.
We decided to put together a group of females that we felt were outstanding hunters and who demonstrated the natural traits of the breed. We then added 2 males that were themselves super hunters with drive and determination as well as a disposition that carries through to their litters.
The goal of our kennel is to help keep the breed strong and provide exceptional dogs to hunters who appreciate the breed as well as the sport of hunting. I feel we have accomplished this at this point and have many satisfied customers for references.
The kennel is operated solely by my wife Terry and I and we pride ourselves in having exceptional hunting dogs that produce great hunters for hunters.
